International Day of Yoga, or commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015. An international day for yoga was proposed by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and subsequently declared unanimously at United Nations General Assembly.
Yoga is a 5000-year legacy from India which now belongs to the world. It has a universal message of integrating mind, body, and soul, and creating harmony between mankind and nature.
This year the International Day of Yoga will be hosted by Embassy of India at Ayala Malls Southpark in Alabang, Muntinlupa on June 17, 2018 from 1:30pm to 6:00pm. It is held in co-operation with the National Youth Commission and Tata Motors.
The Embassy of India in cooperation with the National Youth Commission, alongside Tata Motors and Ayala Malls is hosting the 4th International Day of Yoga 2018 Philippines, the biggest yoga event happening in the country.
Yoga is a mind-body practice that combines physical poses, controlled breathing, and meditation or relaxation. Yoga helps reduce stress, lowers blood pressure. For beginners, find out how yoga is done and try the many benefits that it give on June 17, 2018.
