New Indian Ambassador Jaideep Mazumdar takes charge in Manila

Mr. Jaideep Mazumdar (IFS 1989), who was announced as the New Indian Ambassador to Philippines about 2 months ago, finally took charge in Manila.

Mazumdar has previously held key diplomatic posts in Hong Kong, Beijing, Chittagong, New York (United Nations), Cairo, Kathmandu and New Delhi.

Mazumdar, a brilliant topper who pursued his schooling and higher education in Guwahati, is the son of late Deba Prasad Mazumdar and Anjana Mazumdar of Beltola, Guwahati. He is the youngest brother of senior journalist and author Indrani Raimedhi.

His excellency Mr. Mazumdar’s posting comes in at a very important time when India – Philippines bilateral relations are set to get stronger in coming years.

The previous Indian Ambassador Mr. Lalduhthlana Ralte, was very popular among the Indian population living in Philippines has set the bar very high hence there are very high expectations from Mr. Mazumdar.

Today, Board members of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (Phil) Inc. led by President Mr. Rex Daryanani, welcomed the new Ambassador to Manila.

Looking forward to a better relations between India and Philippines under his leadership.
